There’s nothing more eye-catching than a dramatic set of lashes, but as appealing as the look is, it may be challenging to achieve it on your own. By now, you’ve likely tried mascaras that promise to lengthen and thicken your lashes, but you’ve probably found that the products you’re using consistently come up short of your goals. To complicate matters, eyelash curlers can be difficult to maneuver, and strip lashes with adhesive glue are down-right messy.

The latest trend in lash enhancement is the lift and tint, a quick treatment that curls and darkens your lashes, leaving you with a glamorous look from the moment you get out of bed. Unlike lash extensions, this treatment uses nothing artificial.

It’s your own lashes – only better!

If you are looking for a better way to improve on the sparse, straight lashes you were born with, a lash lift and tint may be the answer. This treatment yields quick results in one simple visit, boosting both your lashes and your confidence. Contact Broward ENT & Aesthetics today to discuss your lash goals and learn more about this revolutionary cosmetic treatment.

How Is a Lift and Tint Treatment Performed?

Think of a lash lift as similar to a 1980s perm, but without the harsh chemicals. This procedure takes your natural eyelashes and curls them from the base, giving them that sought-after uplifted look without having to use an eyelash curler. To enhance the effect, the treatment is finished with a tint, which darkens and defines your eyelashes to help them stand out even more. This special dye can be selected in a color of your choosing, giving your lashes a dark, luscious look without needing a fresh coat of mascara every day.

A lash lift and tint treatment is painless and takes approximately one hour to complete. You’ll be asked to arrive at your appointment without makeup and the area will be cleansed. Next, silicone pads will be applied to your eyelids using an adhesive. This may feel strange, but it will not be painful. Your lashes will be combed up over the silicone shields. Your lash specialist will then apply a softening solution, followed by a setting solution that locks them into their newly arched shape.

When selecting a tint, it’s best to choose a color close to your natural shade. The tint will be applied after the setting solution is removed with sanitized cotton. Once it has taken effect, your lashes will be cleaned with a nourishing oil and gently combed out. The silicone padding will be removed, and you’ll be ready to show off your newly enhanced lashes.

We have LATISSE®!

Grow your lashes naturally! LATISSE® is an FDA-approved treatment that helps eyelashes to grow longer, thicker, and darker. With a nightly application of the LATISSE® solution, your lashes will gradually lengthen and fill out, and you can expect to see the full effect after week 16.

Aftercare Instructions

To keep your lashes looking their best, we recommend following these steps after your lift and tint:

  • Avoid water, cleansing products and makeup for 24 hours after the treatment
  • Do not use an eyelash curler for the first 24 hours, as it may damage your lashes
  • Avoid rubbing or applying force to your lashes
  • Use mild cleansing products on your face
  • Avoid getting your lashes wet; do not go swimming and be very careful in the shower
  • Avoid heat, including direct sunlight and UV lights, for 48 hours after the treatment

Risk Factors

Lash lift and tint treatments may not be recommended for those with a history of eye conditions, or who take certain medications. However, for most clients, this is a low-risk treatment with minimal side effects. Following a lift and tint, some people may notice:

  • Skin irritation
  • Dry eyes
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Watery eyes

Less common reactions to this treatment include:

  • Blistering
  • Allergies
  • Rash
  • Inflammation
  • Eye sensitivity

Any discomfort you experience following your treatment should be both manageable and mild. Should you find yourself in excessive discomfort, please contact our office.

How Long Does a Lift and Tint Treatment Last?

A lash lift and tint can last six to ten weeks. The longevity of your treatment depends on multiple factors, including how well you take care of your lashes and how quickly your natural lashes grow and shed. You can expect the tint to begin fading anywhere from two and three weeks after treatment as your natural lashes begin to grow out. The curl will last longer.

To maximize the benefits of your lift and tint, you should avoid using a lash curler, which can be damaging to the lashes. While you may still use mascara if desired, it’s suggested you do not use waterproof, as it is difficult to remove and can be hard on your lashes. However, following the 24-hour waiting period, you’re permitted to use any eye makeup you desire. Excessively touching your eyes can also affect how long the treatment will last.

Lash lift and tint treatments are a low-maintenance way to make your eyes pop. Unlike lash extensions, there is no need to come in for fills, and this non-damaging treatment can be repeated at any time to enhance your look.
