As time passes, your skin’s cellular turnover rate decreases and the amount of volumizing collagen and elastin in your skin diminishes. You may notice fine lines, wrinkles, rough patches and skin laxity start to develop and worsen with each passing year.

If you have these and other cosmetic skin concerns, Vivace® microneedling is an option for revitalizing your skin and achieving beautiful, natural-looking results without surgery.

What Is Vivace Treatment?

Vivace is an FDA-cleared minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that provides smoother, tighter skin by stimulating the natural growth of new collagen and elastin fibers. This treatment involves radiofrequency (RF) microneedling to effectively rejuvenate your overall skin tone and texture without any downtime.

What Is the Difference Between Vivace and Microneedling?

Microneedling uses tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin and stimulate a healing response that produces new collagen. Vivace involves microneedling with gold-tipped needles that evenly and precisely treat the skin. Vivace also has the addition of radiofrequency and LED technologies for improved results.

Vivace’s Radiofrequency Energy

Vivace uses radiofrequency (RF) energy that administers heat to further tighten and revitalize the skin. The RF energy also speeds up the production of collagen, so you can see the results of treatment sooner than if you had undergone microneedling alone.

Vivace’s LED Light Therapy

Vivace also uses LED light during treatment to calm the skin, reduce inflammation and accelerate healing

What Does Vivace Do for the Skin?

Vivace RF microneedling enhances skin tone and texture for more youthful, radiant skin. Specifically, Vivace can achieve a healthier-looking complexion by improving the following skin conditions:

  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Loose skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Stretch marks
  • Scars
  • Dark spots
  • Rough skin

On What Areas Can Vivace Microneedling Be Done?

The face is the most common area treated with Vivace. However, any area of the body that has aging, photodamage or any of the above concerns can benefit from Vivace microneedling. Other areas often treated include the chest (décolletage), legs and butt. The hips and abdomen are also commonly treated to reduce the appearance of stretch marks on these areas.

How to Prepare for Vivace Treatment

Patients should use sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure for at least three days before a Vivace treatment. To avoid irritation, don’t use products that exfoliate your skin for at least one day before your treatment. These types of products include chemical exfoliators like retinol, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide as well as physical exfoliators like scrubs.

On the day of your Vivace appointment, use a gentle cleanser to wash your skin. You can use a light moisturizer after cleansing if needed, but do not apply any makeup, thick lotions or serums.

What Is the Vivace Procedure Like?

At your Vivace appointment, you will be taken to a treatment room and asked to lie back in the treatment chair. Once your skin is prepped, your provider will pass the Vivace device across the targeted area, and the microneedles will penetrate your skin and deliver the radiofrequency energy.

The entire treatment takes about 45 minutes to complete.

Is Vivace Painful?

Patients say Vivace RF microneedling is a comfortable, pain-free treatment. If you are concerned about pain or discomfort during treatment, we can use a numbing cream about 30 minutes before the start of your procedure to reduce any potentially unpleasant sensations.

What Is the Vivace Experience?

The Vivace Experience® involves radiofrequency microneedling with the Vivace device combined with specially designed serums and a cooling peptide mask. These serums and the mask enhance the results of Vivace RF microneedling and help the skin heal and rejuvenate faster than the Vivace treatment by itself.

These products can be used during your Vivace treatment and at home afterward.

Vivace Experience Serums

The Vivace Boost Serum contains tripeptides and amino acids to promote skin cell renewal, maintain hydration and protect your skin from free-radical damage.

The Boost Slide Serum is a lubricating gel that promotes collagen production and helps provide quick and optimal results from Vivace.

Vivace Experience Mask

The soothing treatment mask used in the Vivace Experience is made of cooling fluid and Binterin (CD99) peptides that reduce inflammation and soothe the skin for faster healing.

Once the mask is on your face, you can wait and relax for 10 to 20 minutes while the product goes to work. After removing the mask, rub any excess product into your hands and neck and enjoy your soothed, radiant skin.

How Many Vivace Treatments Will I Need?

Many patients are satisfied with their results from a single Vivace treatment. However, patients with deeper skin concerns may benefit from a series of two to three treatments undergone every four to six weeks.

What to Expect During Vivace Recovery

After Vivace, the microchannels created in your skin from the tiny needles will stay open and effectively absorb any serums or recovery products. Refrain from touching the treatment area during this time to avoid getting any dirt or bacteria in your skin. These microchannels will close within a few hours, and you can continue with your day without any downtime.

Will I Have Any Side Effects After Vivace?

Temporary and mild Vivace side effects are possible, which include:

  • Bruising
  • Scabbing
  • Swelling
  • Redness

If you experience these minor side effects, they will generally resolve within 24 hours of Vivace treatment.

How Should I Care for My Skin After Vivace?

Use a gentle cleanser in the morning and at night. If using serums, apply those first and then apply your moisturizer. Avoid physically or chemically exfoliating your skin for at least one week after Vivace.

When Will I See My Vivace Results?

Your Vivace results will be noticeable immediately after treatment and will continue to improve over the coming weeks as your skin produces increased collagen and elastin.

How Long Does Vivace Microneedling Last?

The boost in collagen and elastin production in your skin will last for about six months, which generally provides skin-rejuvenating benefits for a few years.
