When you are being intimate with your partner, you want to be in the moment, enjoying the way you make each other feel and building up passion. For men with erectile dysfunction (ED), however, worrying about the ability to perform can make it difficult to be present during sex, leading to an influx of anxious thoughts and feelings that undermine the experience. This can take a toll on your sex life and negatively impact both your self-esteem and relationships.

At Broward ENT & Aesthetics, we understand how ED and other sexual concerns can affect your confidence in the bedroom and prevent you from enjoying yourself. Although oral medications such as Viagra can be effective for some men, these are temporary solutions that fail to address the underlying issues. To help you recapture the intimacy and pleasure of sex, board-certified physician Dr. Wilson DuMornay now offers the P-Shot, a more comprehensive treatment that can restore your sexual health with no downtime or recovery.

What is the P-Shot?

The P-Shot, otherwise known as the Priapus Shot, is an injectable treatment for men that effectively increases blood flow to the penis and rejuvenates the surrounding tissues. After just one treatment, you’ll notice significant improvements in the strength and duration of your erections, allowing you to engage in more satisfying sexual encounters with your partner.

How Does the P-Shot Work?

The P-Shot’s effects come from utilizing platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a therapeutic ingredient often used to address sports injuries known for its healing properties. Extracted from your own blood, PRP contains an abundance of nutrients and growth factors that stimulate the repair and rejuvenation of tissues when injected back into the body. When used to improve male sexual function and performance, the P-Shot helps to regenerate blood vessels and increase circulation, restoring healthy blood flow to the penis to promote more robust and vigorous erections.

Am I a Good Candidate for the P-Shot?

The P-Shot is ideal for most men who want to boost their sexual performance or simply prefer an alternative to oral ED medication, such as Viagra or Cialis. For some men, these medications may deliver disappointing results or cause unwanted side effects, while others may be unable to take them due to conflicting health concerns such as diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease. Since the P-Shot uses your body’s own natural materials, it is highly compatible with little risk of allergic or adverse reactions.

If you’re interested in the P-Shot and want to find out if this treatment is right for you, Dr. DuMornay can determine if you are a good candidate during an in-person consultation. He will take the time to listen to your goals, concerns and expectations to develop an individualized P-Shot treatment plan that effectively addresses your needs.

What is the P-Shot Treatment Like?

Your P-Shot treatment will begin with a blood draw, from which a nutrient and growth factor-dense PRP serum will be created using a specialized device called a centrifuge. A lot of care and effort is put into this step to ensure that the resulting PRP is highly concentrated to maximize its effectiveness. After obtaining the PRP, the treatment area will be numbed to ensure a comfortable experience. Then, using an ultrafine needle, the PRP serum will be injected into the head and shaft of the penis. Most patients receive about five strategically-placed injections spread throughout the penis to ensure an even distribution of the rejuvenating effects. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes to an hour to complete, after which you will be able to return home and immediately resume all normal activities.

What Can I Expect After My P-Shot Treatment?

There will be no downtime or recovery period after your P-Shot treatment, although it’s recommended that you wait at least 48 hours before engaging in any sexual activity. You may notice some bruising, soreness or swelling at the injection site, but this is normal and will quickly subside. Since PRP is derived from your own blood, you shouldn’t experience any side effects or adverse reactions. If you have any concerns after your appointment, Dr. DuMornay will be available to answer your questions or offer more information.

What Results Can I Expect?

After your P-Shot procedure, the PRP serum begins to rejuvenate tissues and stimulate the production of new blood vessels immediately so that you will notice some effects within 48 hours. These improvements will continue to develop and become more apparent over the next three to four weeks, with final results taking effect after about 12 weeks. Some of the benefits you’ll enjoy may include:

  • Increased blood flow and circulation to the penis
  • Stronger, longer and more sustainable erections
  • Improved sexual stamina
  • Reduced refractory period
  • More sensation and pleasure
  • Moderate increase in size and girth

These effects are long-lasting and may persist for up to 18 months. Although most men only need one PRP injection to achieve their desired results, the P-Shot can be repeated to build on the results of previous treatments.
